Congratulations, United Shapes. The results are in and the Horizon takes home the highly coveted title of Best Board tested and reviewed at the 2024 Field Test.

From United Shapes:
A directional twin with subtle early tip and tail rise for adaptability + pronounced camber, for optimal precision and edge hold. Our Classic Core is a strong, high-caliber construction. Found in the Horizon, Cadet and Object shapes, the Classic Core utilizes Poplar and Paulownia for a lightweight, lively, and durable foundation. Ash stringers are strategically placed adding a high performance backbone. All together, the Classic Core delivers a smoother ride in variable snow, and absorption on deep landings.

Center carbon stringer runs tip to tail providing playful backbone and increased stability while keeping overall shape torsionally maneuverable. Bonus pack of set-back inserts when you need even more float on those ultra deep, ultra dreamy pow days. High density, sintered black base. Fast and easy to repair.

This snowboard uses an environmentally-conscious, bio-based resin where the hardener has 65% of its carbon derived from plant material. It has the same structural properties as resin derived solely from petrochemical products.

This high-performance freeride/freestyle snowboarding binding is designed specifically for Travis’ aggressive riding style and is ready to take on the biggest lines and the steepest spines.

A traditional snowboard baseplate is made of a single layer with the same material and stiffness throughout. Union’s all-new 2 Layer baseplate construction allows us to have two individual layers: the Core [1] and the Frame [2]. Each layer has the possibility of using a unique material and stiffness to achieve the desired ride feel of the binding.

We designed the Field Test to collect both quantitative and qualitative information on products. Quantitative to make for easy and fair comparisons on product characteristics, and qualitative to go deeper into the nuances and minutiae of thoughts and observations.

As with any data set, there is some inherent bias based on external conditions so take this all with a grain of salt. These results aren’t absolute, they are just data!

Huge thanks to all of our testers & reviewers, our exhibiting brands, our supporting sponsors, and everyone involved at INTERLUDE.
